WHO WE ARE
Solai Group Dairy farm started with Holstein Friesian cows in the early 1960’s. Firstly our cows were all milked manually. In 1996 there were around 450 milking cows at the Solai Group Dairy farm. The land was allotted for free grazing and plantation of fodder crops.
Solai Group Mawa factory was started in 1952.
In 2008 the Solai Group invested in a fully automated mechanical dairy. Presently our herd strength stands at 500 cattle, of which 250 milking cows.
On the 15th of October 2023 Solai Highlands Dairy factory opened its own Paneer, Mozzarella, Gouda Cheese and Cheddar plant, alongside the Solai Penda factory both freshly made from Farm from milk.
At Solai Highlands Dairy we milk our cows twice a day. Fixed milking time factor is important for better milk production and hygiene. The cows are arranged in stalls, cleaned and milked. The milk is stored with every hygienic precaution. The milking parlour is thoroughly cleaned after every milking session.
Currently 500 Friesian Holstein and Ayrshire cows are present at our farm, of which 250 milking cows.

The Mission of Solai Highlands Cheese Factory is to produce the best indoor milk and indoor farm fresh bio Cheese selections, Solai Mawa and Penda which are the best in taste and quality.

It is the vision of Solai Highlands Diary Cheese Factory to always maintain our rich traditions, cater to our customers’ preferences, and to be a primary source for delicious international standard cheeses, with a Dutch in house touch, a variety of specialty and signature milk- and cheese products.
