The taste of Solai Highlands Paneer is fresh and versatile, the texture is soft and crumbly and it can be used as a component of tasty gravies, stuffed in flatbreads or grilled as a kebab. It is a perfect base for a wide range of grilled or cooked dishes into your favorite spiced sauce of Indian and South – Asian food dishes.  

The process of making Paneer cheese is as follows; The milk is boiled, curdled with a small amount of whey and then strained and beaten in a cheesecloth. The cheese is kneaded well until it becomes smooth. It is a rich source of milk protein.

As mentioned in the Vedas, dating as far back as 6,000 BC of Indian Subcontinent, Paneer is a fresh cheese frequently used in South Asian Cuisine. Solai Highlands Paneer is pasteurized.

Solai Highlands Gouda Cheese

Solai Highlands Gouda Cheese is a Dutch cheese named after the city of Gouda in the Netherlands and organically produced in Solai, Kenya.

It is one of the most popular cheeses in the world, accounting for 50 to 60% of the world's cheese consumption.

It is a semi-hard cheese celebrated for its rich, unique flavor and smooth texture.

Gouda is typically made from pasteurized cow’s milk although some artisan varieties use sheep’s or goat’s milk to produce it.

Gouda cheese may be grated, sliced, cubed or melted. It may be used as a table cheese or dessert cheese.

Traditionally Mawa is prepared by simmering full-fat milk for hours over a medium flame. Milk is reduced to one-fifth of its volume by removing its moisture content through a slow cooking process.

After this evaporation, milk reaches its semi-solid stage, and all that is left behind is a creamy, nutty-flavored dough-like milk solid, and that is Mawa.

SOLAI MAWA AND PENDA FACTORY

Our Solai Mawa and Penda products are made based on a 1952 original recipe which contains whole milk, very fresh from our own dairy cattle. Solai Mawa is used as a basic ingredient to make all sorts of Candy, Ice-creams and Kulfi (Indian ice creams).

Our Solai Mawa factory is the most reknown Mawa factory in Eastern Africa. Our original Mawa and Penda recipes are still the very same and being used identical generation by generation.
